Dibrugarh: Saffron party candidate and sitting MP from Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat Pradan Baruah kicked off his poll campaign at Sadiya, the easternmost sub-division of Assam in Tinsukia district, on Wednesday.
Sadiya, a legislative assembly constituency with 1,89,854 voters, is an integral part of the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha constituency. The region can be accessed by crossing India’s longest bridge, the Dhola-Sadiya bridge (Dr Bhupen Hazarika Setu), over the Brahmaputra in Tinsukia district.
Accompanied by state education minister Ranoj Pegu and Sadiya BJP MLA Bolin Chetia, Baruah interacted with voters in the constituency and sought their support for a third consecutive win in the election.Baruah addressed several rallies expressing his commitment to the constituency and seeking the support of the voters.
Speaking about his plans, Baruah highlighted the development projects initiated during his tenure and pledged to bring more growth and progress to the region. He also spoke about the importance of the Dhola-Sadiya bridge and how it has provided better connectivity to the people in the area.
“We have witnessed tremendous development in the Lakhimpur Lok Sabha seat over the past few years. The Dhola-Sadiya bridge was one of the major infrastructure projects undertaken by the BJP government in Assam,” Baruah said while addressing a rally in Sadiya’s Amarpur area.
